What we did for the 2011-2012 school year

Recent 2012 ACT programs: Asia Culture Series 

Korean Tae Kwon Do: Held on January 26

  • Master Youn Junghun of Youn's Taekwondo demonstrated the art and skill of this ancient martial arts tradition.

Japanese folk tale, Cat Mountain:  Held on February 9

  • Behind the Mask theater troupe brought this story to life with masks, traditional Japanese songs and original music.

Indian Dance and Music:Held on March 15

  • Rachna Agrawal performed classical Kathak, a North Indian temple dance dating back 2,000 years.

Author Visit:  Held on Feburary 17

  • Newberry Award winning authorGrace Lin spoke to our students in grade sessions (K-1, 2-3 and 4-5), showcasing the multicultural themes and illustrations of her many award-winning books. Her work highlights the Chinese culture and Chinese-American experience.
