These diverse committees make the school a better place for student learning, socialization and achievement. Field Day, Chairs: Kim Gruber, Courtney Christensen With assistance from the physical education staff at Fiske, coordinate a June morning full of outdoor games and sports. Parents are needed to lead games and oversee activities throughout the day.
Landscaping, Chair: Lee Webster Volunteers help with the fall and spring cleanup around Fiske. Parents also add some color to the grounds with perennials and annuals, as needed.
Library, Chairs: Kim Doney, Jane Williamson Parents are needed to assist the school librarian. Volunteers help students check out books and reshelve returned books. This is a year long commitment. Members of the Library committee also help with the annual book fair.
Recycling, Chair: Kat MacDonald Parent volunteers help make Fiske more environmentally friendly. Parents work with staff and students to lighten Fiske’s “environmental footprint” by reducing, re-using and recycling.
Room Parents, Chair: Most active during the start of the school year and during the Fiske Fair. Room parents help facilitate classroom to home communication and work with teachers to plan class celebrations. Room parents also recruit volunteers for the Fiske Fair and the Fiske Frost.
