Are you a kid who likes to eat and wants to learn more about where your food comes from?

Would you like to learn knife skills and cooking techniques? In this hands-on cooking class you will plan a Celebratory Meal for your family and friends,  using local fresh produce! You will get a chance to work with a local chef and Meet a Farmer.  Parents are invited to celebrate with us at a Dinner Party, planned, prepared and served by kids! We hope you will join us.

Class #1.   Tuesday February    3     Pasta Making

Class # 2.  Tuesday February 10      In house field trip, visit with a farmer.

   School Vacation, no class on February 17

Class #3.   Tuesday February 24      Fresh Fruit Smoothie Challenge

Class #4.   Tuesday March 3               Dinner celebration kids cook 3:15-6:00 guests arrive at 6:15

Class #5.   Tuesday  March 10           Fruit Based Dessert and review


Program includes a local snack at each class, and dinner for the child and 2 guests at our dinner celebration.  Additional guest to our dinner are permitted with prior approval of the instructor and a $6. Fee per guest.  

Kids Cooking Green is the educational programming of the Lexington Farmers’ Market and has the support of the Mass Farmers Markets, a not for profit 501 (C) (3)



Offered to students in Grades 3-5

Class size limits:  Minimum = 12 students; Maximum = 17 students

Dates & Times:  5 Tuesdays (February 3 – March 10, no class 2/16) from 3:30 – 5:15 pm

PTO Subsidized cost:  $225 per student
